Paul Morrison is the owner of The Wood Cycle. Paul has a farm boy background and is an engineer by training, but has loved woodworking from his youth.
The Wood Cycle was formed in 1999 specifically as an urban wood business and used the phrase "urban wood" long before it became a common term. The Wood Cycle is a multi-employee business since 2003. In addition to Paul, The Wood Cycle employs 3 people on the log to lumber side of the business, and 4 on the lumber to the finished product side of the business.
The business process more than 50,000 board feet per year, with about half that wood used in its own operations and the balance consumed by other local woodworkers.
Paul also authored “Tree to Table; Emergence of the Urban Wood Movement”.
